- Installing and configuring hardware and software, including servers, storage devices, operating systems, and applications.
- Monitoring system performance and identifying and resolving issues and outages.
- Managing user accounts and permissions, ensuring data privacy and security.
- Developing and implementing backup and disaster recovery plans.
- Conducting system upgrades and migrations.
- Ensuring system and data security by implementing firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and other security measures.
- Managing and maintaining servers, storage devices, and other infrastructure components.
- Creating and maintaining documentation, including user manuals and system configuration guides.
- Collaborating with other IT staff to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
- Staying up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends, and making recommendations for system improvements and upgrades.
- Perform duties of the chief information officer in their absence.
- Carry out other such duties as may be assigned or requested.
- Ability to lift and transport computer equipment such as desktops, monitors, printers, and other hardware (up to 60 lbs.)
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, crouching, climbing ladders, or reaching in tight spaces for cable management or hardware installation
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware.
- Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Intune, SCCM.
- Scripting skills in languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Understanding of the CIS Critical Security Controls (v8.1) and their application in system administration.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Ability to learn new systems and technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
