- Vigilantly aware of the safety aspects within your work area as well as various safety concerns throughout the Form & Weld Department.
- Know and continue to expand knowledge of quality aspects of the product.
- Know the process of calibrating and/or twisting chain while diligently inspecting each type of chain produced on the group.
- Know how to complete all pertinent paperwork and checks to be performed in your work area.
- Know the process for cutting a QC sample, splicing the chain back together, and restarting the group.
- Know how to reload the former both pushing the wire and guiding the wire at the front side while learning any of the safety issues and where to place hands.
- Know how to start the machines to begin production while having the ability to observe machine operations for evidence of malfunction and monitoring product for nonconformities.
- Know the skills for replacing simple tooling while working toward complex tooling simultaneously starting to develop knowledge and skills for adjusting complex tooling to maintain efficient machine operation while insuring product specifications.
- Have the knowledge and understanding of Job Travelers, PMTs, and High-Hat Tags to ensure proper wire is used for product and correct paperwork is placed on completed bin boxes.
- Start to develop the knowledge to perform set ups on the machines.
- Start developing the skills to train other individuals how to operate equipment.

- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Mechanical skills or demonstrated ability to learn mechanical skills, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to use or learn to use measuring instruments such as calipers and rulers.
- Must be able to use hand and power tools.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, or crawl.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., at times may be asked to lift more.
- Environment is non-climate controlled.
- Production floor is typically loud.
- Must wear required PPE.
