Job DescriptionA Global Depositary Notes (“GDN”) Product Sales / Trader is responsible for driving business growth through promotion, distribution, and trading of the product. The overall objective of this role is to optimize product adoption among global institutional investors and responsible for assisting with a trading book and mitigating risk, in coordination with the Trading team.Responsibilities:Proactively raise product awareness and expand participation in the product among global institutional investorsLeverage existing and establish new investor relationships for product distribution purposesIdentify new opportunities for product distribution, including product expansion into new geographies, working closely with product partnersProvide transactional support to product users in ensuring a seamless investor experienceConstruct marketing collateral and other tools designed to increase product knowledge among the investor baseOrganize / attend investor meetingsWork in partnership with the Issuer Services and Markets organizations to coordinate resources and expertise around transactional opportunitiesDevelop metrics to track investor interaction and trading volumesCollect investor intelligence to define the product demand landscape, including the management of investor surveys, where applicableAssist with a trading book and generate revenues and manage risk for the respective businessCoordinate with Sales, Research, CMand and other organizations across Markets and Securities Services and the broader businessTrade a book and deliver on budgeted revenues and manage book riskLeading strong governance and controls:Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructureBuild a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethicsAppropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions, demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputationBe familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities ServicesAdhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your roleObtain and maintain all registrations/licenses required for your role, within the appropriate timeframeAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Qualifications:FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses are required.10-15 years of relevant experienceRelationships with global asset managers that participate in the emerging market (EM) debt spaceStrong familiarity with EM debt markets and productsExperience in facilitating or supporting the distribution of EM debt products among asset managers and other institutional investorsAbility to work independently and creatively in cultivating new distribution opportunities for financial products among the target investor baseKnowledge of the EM debt-value chain and lifecycle, including pre-trade and post-trade activitiesStrong commercial acumen, abilities to negotiate and influenceHighly motivated, self-starter, resourceful, reliant, and globally mindedStrong interpersonal skills with attention to details and ability to take direction wellAbility to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirementsAbility to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictateDemonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skillsAbility to work in a team-oriented environment in a global businessFinancial and statistical analysis skills, including abilities such as regression analysis, quantitative analysis, and forecasting techniquesKnowledge of Bloomberg, booking systems, trading protocol, closing technicalitiesRelevant FINRA registrations/licensesEducation:Bachelor’s degree / University degree or equivalent experienceThis job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
