- Performs a variety of design and development of integrated avionics and communications systems.
- Provides expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems.
- Resolves highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research.
- Must be able to defend work and design approach following a variety of the Systems Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
- Relies on applicable experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Works to place planning and reflection cadences into use across multiple project teams with the goal of synchronizing team members and activities.
- Strives to increase the efficiency of development practices by guiding the flow, architecture, design quality, code quality, system quality, and release quality of deliverables.
- Familiar with a variety of the Systems Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Mentor junior engineering candidates in Systems Engineering best practices.
- Develops/writes system test plans and procedures in accordance with industry standards (IEEE Standard for Software Test Documentation etc.).
- Simulates end-user operations and executes test procedures.
- Supports the generation of testable requirements and designs test bed architecture.
- Writes detailed test cases and articulates results in chosen software development lifecycle management tool (e.g., Digital.ai Agility, JIRA etc.)
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an Engineering-related field.
- US Citizenship is required to obtain a US Government Security Clearance and to access facilities required to perform work.
- 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or a related field, including proven experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.
- Experience with simulation tools and techniques for system design, analysis, and validation.
- Prior experience with Army Command and Control (C2) systems such as IBCS, FAAD, THAAD etc.
- 3+ years of experience with tactical data links including Link 16
- 3+ years of experience with DoD radio communications systems
- 3+ years of experience with IP network design and maintenance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of new product Life Cycle to include: system design, development, integration, test, delivery, product support and retirement
- Hold the following certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Linux+, CompTIA Project+, CompTIA AeroIT.
- Holds or willing to work towards Systems Engineering Professional Certification (e.g. INCOSE ASEP as a minimum)
