By equipping the brightest minds with the best resources available, we provide an invaluable edge in real estate.As a Senior Database Developer, you will be responsible for architecting and building data solutions that operate on terabytes of data and scale to support the internal processes of our company and process over a billion dollars of revenue per year.This position is located in Arlington, VA and is in office Monday through Thursday, and work from home on Friday.RESPONSIBILITIES:Deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building softwareDrive the design of highly performant and highly available data solutionsBuild solutions that operate on massive amounts of data in high-transaction-volume applicationsTune database performance using tools like SQL Profiler, Execution PlansCreate and maintain Power BI dashboardsMaintain documentation for database structures, processes, and best practicesWork with QA resources to ensure that the software delivered is of the highest qualityAct as a key member of the product launch team and work closely with DevOps to resolve operational issuesEvaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that can be leveraged to strengthen CoStar's technology platform and development practices.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or collegeA track record of commitment to prior employers4+ years of SQL database development experienceDemonstrable track record of building and launching successful products that leverage terabytes of dataDatabase design, T-SQL programming, performance tuning, index analysisStrong ability to analyze complex data sets and optimize queriesDefine database architecture and development best practicesExperience with version control systems (e.g., TFS)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:Experienced in database performance testing and SQL code unit testing strategies and implementationsExperience with NoSQL databases (e.g., ElasticSearch)Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI)Scripting knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automationKnowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS)Comfortable facilitating discussions among database developers to exchange ideas and introduce new database technologiesStrong communication skills (with the business and technical partners)WHATS IN IT FOR YOU:Working at CoStar Group means you'll enjoy a culture of collaboration and innovation that attracts the best and brightest across a broad range of disciplines.
