  • You will be responsible for formulating the command’s Strategic Estimate, Strategy, Campaign Support Plan, Commander’s Mission / Vision and Joint Planning Groups (JPG) planning.
  • You will be responsible for providing articulate Flag Officer / General Officer level information papers, position papers, briefings, and talking points with regard to theater strategy and planning issues.
  • You will work with Interagency and various other working groups, conferences, and Joint Planning Groups.
  • You will oversee Special Operation’s Posture within the INDOPACOM Area of Responsibility and provide advice and guidance to the Commander.

QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following experience: 1) Formulating an organization's strategy, campaign support plan, mission/vision; 2) Extensive knowledge of operational-strategic plans, military operational art, and Joint Planning and Execution System (JOPES); 3) Developing an organization's Posture plan; 4) Writing Flag level position papers, briefings, and talking points related to theater strategy and planning issues; 5) Analyzing and developing a variety of National, Regional, and Bilateral level policies, contingency plans, operational plans, campaign plans, and strategies.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.EducationThere is no substitute of education for experience for this series at this grade level.Additional informationThis position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.Several vacancies may be filled.This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary.Eligible DoD career or career conditional employees shall be granted statutory return rights to their former position for a period of 5 years if continuously employed in a foreign or non-foreign area provided by Executive Order 10895 and DoDI 1400.25, v 1230.
