Assists in maintaining the payroll system through processing of applications, documents and garnishments; verifies, reconciles and adjusts financial documents with the State Comptroller’s Office.Essential Functions
- Performs technical accounting work in the Home Services Payroll Unit.
- Assists with entering debit card applications into the statewide accounting system.
- Assists with processing payroll for Home Services Personal Care Attendants with the W4 card entry, Union card entry and direct deposit processing.
- Maintains complex vendor filing system in order to keep current payment addresses in the state accounting system.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years college and completion of an approved training course OR three (3) years related clerical bookkeeping experience.
- Qualifying state employees, in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this class.
