- Performing geospatial data collection, integration, and analysis to support disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.
- Developing and maintaining GIS dashboards, maps, and visualizations to enhance situational awareness and decision-making.
- Organizing, structuring, and maintaining geospatial datasets, templates, and tools within FEMA’s Planning Decision Support Catalog (PDSC).
- Supporting the design and automation of analytical tools with real-time data feeds (e.g., NWS, DOE, transportation).
- Producing decision-support products such as incident journals, lifeline dashboards, and crisis action maps.
- Conducting hazard and risk assessments to inform FEMA’s planning and operational coordination.
- Supporting national- and regional-level planning workshops, exercises, and briefings with geospatial analysis and visualizations.
- Ensuring all geospatial products meet FEMA formatting, branding, and Section 508 compliance requirements.
- Providing surge support during major incidents with rapid mobilization of GIS products.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Emergency Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5–7 years of professional experience in GIS and geospatial analysis, preferably in emergency management or homeland security.
- Experience applying geospatial tools in operational environments, including FEMA’s Six-Step Planning Process, NIMS, and ICS.
- Proficiency with ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, ESRI Dashboards, and related GIS tools.
- Experience integrating real-time data feeds into GIS dashboards and templates.
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with FEMA SharePoint for data and product management.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Section 508 compliance standards.
- Ability to work in hybrid and surge environments (HQ, Regional, or Remote).
- SECRET clearance preferred.
