- Coordinate and present safety training to support Wanzek and client requirements, including planning, documentation, and presentation. This may include: New Hire Orientation, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, Respiratory, etc.
- Provide Safety Leadership creating enthusiasm and participation among management and craft workers, resulting in excellent safety performance
- May assist with inputting and reviewing incident reports
- Assist in the execution of the jobsite safety plans
- Exposure to and an understanding of the lockout/tagout procedures in a safe manner
- Communicate with Wanzek management regarding safety matters
- Ensure safety documentation is complete and accurate as required by Wanzek and regulations
- Ensure PTPs, field audits, daily equipment inspections, SOPs and safety meetings are being conducted and entered into appropriate systems for tracking
- Develop and administer recognition systems with Safety Managers to promote safe and healthful work performance, i.e. “Good Catch”
- Ensure sufficient supply of suitable inventory of PPE and safety equipment. Work with the Site Safety Lead to order more supplies as needed.
- May assist with pulling safety report information and putting together safety report detail documents for Safety Managers
- Complete drug screen collections as needed
- Understand and implement the site-specific emergency response plan
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1 year of construction experience preferred
- Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Zero Injury principles
- Functional computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Type and write reports with accuracy and appropriate grammar
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have knowledge of hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management skills, and written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and extreme heat
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
- Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
- Compensation $24.50-$32.60 / hour, commensurate with experience
