- Safely interacts with plant employees when in the plants and with customers when in the field.
- Follows all safety requirements and procedures.
- Organizes and leads kick-off meetings once projects are awarded to Nortrak.
- Managing external project portfolios across our Plants including understanding and managing contracts, scope, budget, timelines, risks, issues, and project resources.
- Analyses project goals, establishes a schedule of milestones and deadlines for project completion.
- Documents, tracks, and follows up on milestones, maintains information packages, submittals and other documentation.
- Anticipates and manages risks by developing action plans to execute on the project plan.
- Communicates accurate project information detailing project progress during weekly project meetings and all customer communication.
- Supports QA in supplying information regarding customer complaints.
- Communicates "lessons learned" as they arise on projects closing the loop with relevant Nortrak teams to ensure that ongoing learning is applied to future projects.
- Facilitates coordination between departments on project issues.
- Establishes project schedules for company-wide projects with appropriate personnel to prioritize projects, consider creative, but realistic solutions to reduce project lead times where possible.
- Acts as the primary contact for customers and engineering once a project is awarded.
- Communicates and provides status updates proactively; following up on project variances from inception through completion and evaluation, including budget, timeline, and resource allocation.
- Meets with customers regularly to proactively inform them of project status and keep customers accountable for their commitments.
- Manages, coordinates, and proactively communicates efforts between various stakeholders to execute on project goals; coordinates project activities; assigns tasks to appropriate stakeholders for completion.
- Identifies potential causes of delay, documents these delays on the Change Order Master Summary, and communicates these delays or changes to the Project Liaisons.
- Identifies, documents on the Change Order Master Summary, and communicates any and all scope changes to the Project Liaisons.
- Tracks and understands the financial implications of decisions on overall project budgets, develops cost recovery plans with stakeholders when costs are higher than expected.
- Initiates project change orders where scope, budgets, or timelines are impacted.
- Communicates a description of the contract changes identified to Project Liaisons.
- Holds regular status meetings with project team.
- Participates in daily production meetings to remain apprised of overall schedule and any issues that could affect cost or timely delivery.
- Works with customers to obtain approvals timely.
- Builds relationships with customers, internal functions, and shop floor teams.
- Influences cross-functional teams and manages customer expectations to deliver projects within scope, on-time, and on budget.
- Communicates respectfully, proactively, and influences stakeholders to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Resolves or escalates issues in a timely manner.
- Effectively communicates relevant project information to project stakeholders.
- Works with the project team to make sure that all project priority conflicts are resolved.
- Adhere to Nortrak's Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies.
- Secondary School Graduation or equivalent.
- Professional certifications in project management preferred.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a project management role in a similar environment -preferably within the manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated Project Management expertise, including management of budgets, timelines, and scope.
- Ability to persuade without direct influence.
- Well organized and maintains excellent time management.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional standing and walking for your scheduled shift.
- Must remain stationary for extended periods and move throughout the building to access files.
- Must work effectively in a noisy environment.
- Ability to lift and move equipment or objects up to 20-25 pounds occasionally.
- Visual requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Occasional travel required, involving walking, standing, sitting, and driving for varying durations.
- Site inspections required to identify and address safety concerns.
- Frequent use of hands and arms for dialing phones and using a computer mouse.
