Position Title: Data Operations SpecialistDepartment: ITReports to: Director of ITLocation: Within 30 miles of TulsaPosition Summary:We’re seeking a Data Operations Specialist who thrives on customer interaction, excels at managing complex tasks end-to-end, and loves diving into SQL to solve data challenges. In this role, you’ll oversee new-customer implementations, monitor ongoing data feeds, and partner closely with internal teams and external clients to ensure data accuracy, timeliness, and reliability. By establishing and managing SFTP connections, collaborating with clients to design and finalize data layouts, architect transmission schedules, and rigorously validating each initial file delivery for accuracy and timelinessServe as the Dedicated Customer Data liaison, proactively communicating progress, swiftly reporting issues, and ensuring stakeholders feel informed and confidentYou’ll champion the investigation and escalations the moment a data discrepancy is detected, via automated alerts, audits, or user reports to ensure nothing slips through the cracksUse Jira, Confluence, or Pipedrive to log every open and resolved data issue, complete with status updates, assigned ownership, and resolution timelines. Give internal teams on-demand access to progress dashboards and key metrics, ensuring full transparency and accountabilityDevelop and update comprehensive guides for data processes, workflows, and troubleshooting proceduresCraft advanced SQL queries and analytical scripts to dissect complex datasets, pinpoint root-cause issues, and surface actionable insights that drive smarter decisionsCollaborate across teams to refine our task-management framework to eliminate blockers and boost team efficiencyPitch and implement creative solutions to enhance data accuracy, delivery speed, and customer satisfactionRequired qualifications:Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent hands-on experience driving data operationsProven expertise configuring and securing SFTP connectionsDeep familiarity with Fixed-Width, CSV, JSON, XML, and other formats—plus mastery of validation tools to catch anomalies before they propagateCraft complex queries, optimize stored procedures, and troubleshoot massive datasets with surgical precisionHands-on experience crafting end-to-end data extraction, transformation, and load workflows using T-SQL and SQL Server Integration ServicesOutstanding written and verbal skills, able to translate technical nuances into clear action plans for both internal teams and external partnersA detective mindset for root-cause analysis, paired with the creativity to design permanent fixes that elevate data qualityComfortable navigating WinSCP, FileZilla, or other FTP clients—and quick to adopt new platforms and dashboardsThrives in fast-paced environments, expertly balancing multiple projects and deadlines without missing a beatData Transmission Experience: 3-5 yearsMedical/Healthcare background Experience: 1 yearAbout SmartLight AnalyticsSmartLight Analytics was formed by a group of industry insiders who wanted to make a meaningful impact on the rising cost of healthcare.
