
Engineering Specialist, Controls (3:00pm-11:30pm)

- Coordinate resources to find root cause and fixes, manage and breakdown problems into items that can be validated. Determine proper validation methods.
- Handle setup and maintenance of industrial bar code printers
- Utilize sound knowledge design and implement vision control systems. Familiar with different type of vision cameras and their programing software. Continuously evaluate equipment for improvement for quality and delivery
- Use FIS plant monitoring software to review cycle times of equipment, review and follow up project installations
- Reprogram equipment for engineering changes and improvements
- Update program backups for machinery and automation
- Program new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robots
- As part of a team, review risk assessments and evaluate equipment safety
- Assist in training manufacturing personnel and plant electricians
- Read and modify electrical prints and schematics, Auto CAD
- Maintain familiarity with OA, CPN/MPN networks and communication protocols for connecting to wireless and wired networks
- Manage installation and maintenance of virus protection software for controls network PCs, perform PC backup disc images and installation of communication and firmware and controls software
- Work overtime and weekends as needed
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 or more years of Controls Engineering experience (internship and coop experience will be considered)
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls or Automation Engineering
- Electrical background (electrician or technician) preferred
- Familiar with PLC/CNC (Siemens/ Allen-Bradley), VFD, Servo, Profinet, ABB and FANUC Robots
- Solid understanding of laser burning
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, modify electrical schematics and use AutoCAD
- Validated ability to troubleshoot equipment and continuously evaluate for process improvements
- Experience with conveyor system programming and overhead Gantry
- Solid understanding of networking to include DH+, Ethernet and remote IO
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
- Lean Tools - 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping experience
- Understanding of 8D, FMEA, and DMAIC processes
- Familiar with TQM and Kaizen methods
- One or more years of experience with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
- Knowledge of simulation modeling and visual factory management preferred
