Job Description:Position Title: Utility System Operator I (Water Production)To view all salary ranges for the City of Peoria, please .Tell me more…..The purpose of this position is to provide semi-skilled and skilled installation, maintenance, and repair work on the water production system. This is accomplished by servicing equipment pertaining to the water production well-field treatment and delivery systems. Other duties may include completing related tasks as assigned. Shift work, weekends, holidays, standby duty, and callback duty may be required.To view the full job description, work environment and physical demands,The ideal candidate for this position will have:
  • Ability to perform skilled work and maintenance on Water Production equipment.
  • Ability to read papers, periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias.
  • Ability to deal with a system of real numbers; and practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and measurement.
  • Will assist in the installation, maintenance, inspections, and repair of equipment, machinery and systems related to Water Production.
  • Ability to respond and troubleshoot customer concerns about water pressure as well as water quality concerns including taste, odor and color complaints.
  • Ability to work with other departments regarding water quality and environmental compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve technical problems and customer complaints and inform management of operational issues, needs or concerns.

Physical Demands:

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Valid Arizona Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License with HazMAT and Tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire.
  • Grade I Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Certification in Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection, or Water Treatment within one year of hire in area of assignment.
