The Electrical Engineering Manager reports to the Director of Engineering and is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of high precision circuit cards and design assurance firmware. The ideal candidate blends technical expertise with people savvy leadership and the ability to continue to develop the overall strength of the department. Manage a team of engineers providing guidance, mentorship and support to ensure quality designs
Oversee department performance evaluations, promotions and compensation
Supervise the design, development, testing and deployment of high-precision VPX circuit cards and design assurance firmware on time and within budget
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines for design architecture, implementation and integration of FPGA/SoC based DSP processing on circuit cards
Provide discipline level inputs to proposals
Evaluate and deploy tools to assist in efficient electrical and firmware design in a continuous improvement mindset
Grow the MBSE modelling capability of the department to support the overall need for MBSE models of all future products
Provide guidance and assist in troubleshooting of multi-discipline design issues
Your Expertise:
Minimum of 5 years of experience leading or managing a team of individual contributors
Minimum of 10 years of electrical engineering design, development and test experience
Experience in leading a team or department of Electrical Engineers in the development, testing and integration of circuit cards with associated firmware and software designs
Ability to manage a team of engineers providing coaching, guidance, mentoring and support to ensure quality designs
Technical expertise to manage those involved with design, development, modification and analysis of various electronic systems including power electronics, circuit design and firmware
Excellent technical writing and communication skills
Excellent analysis and decision-making skills
Excellent time management skills
Experience with VHDL and Verilog FPGA Design including DSP
Experience with GIT, SourceTree and Jira
Experience operating/managing in an Agile Development environment
Experience with Circuit Card design
Experience with writing Python and C/C++ software a benefit
US Citizen and must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
BSEE/BSCE required
MSEE/MSCE preferred
