
Travel Sleep Technician/Polysomnography

- Successful completion of a sleep technology program.
- One year of recent experience as a polysomnographer/sleep tech required
- Valid Sleep Technician/Polysomnography license in compliance with state regulations.
- Registered Sleep Technologist Certification (CPSGT or RPSGT)
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
- Review patient history and verify orders
- Provide education to patient and/or family members for either in-center or at-home testing
- Follow procedural protocols to ensure collection of appropriate data
- Identify, correct, and document artifacts to maintain the integrity of the recorded data
- Document routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and other significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of results
- Implement appropriate interventions as necessary
- Assist with scoring sleep/wake stages and clinical events
- Follow sleep center policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of a Polysomnographer/Sleep Technician
- Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, & communicate in the English language is required
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Physical Abilities - Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending
- Interpersonal Skills - To work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Technical/Motor Skills - Ability to grasp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
- Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
