- The Supplier Governance & Monitoring Team is dedicated to overseeing Microsoft's global indirect supply base, with a strong emphasis on identifying, tracking, and remediating risks through rigorous governance, monitoring, vetting and audit practices.
- The team collaborates with business units and suppliers to promote transparency, compliance, and continuous improvement across all risk management activities.
- The Supplier Risk Management Contractor will play a pivotal role in managing and advancing supplier audit activities within the team. This position is responsible for the end-to-end oversight of supplier audits, including project management, data collection and analysis, issue tracking, and remediation.
- The contractor will work closely with suppliers and outsourced teams to ensure audit objectives are met and that risks are effectively identified and mitigated. Tool and process enhancement, business requirement documentation, and the identification of automation opportunities will further support robust audit and compliance operations.
- Lead and oversee supplier audit projects, ensuring thorough planning, execution, and reporting of audit activities.
- Gather, organize, and analyze audit data to highlight areas for improvement.
- Develop clear, actionable audit risk summaries for internal stakeholders and leadership.
- Track audit issues from identification through remediation, collaborating with suppliers to address and resolve audit findings.
- Manage and support supplier engagement throughout audit cycles, promoting open communication and compliance with governance standards.
- Lead and coordinate with outsourced teams involved in auditing and remediation processes to ensure alignment and accountability.
- Drive enhancements for tools and processes; create business requirements and support for implementation of automation solutions.
- Contribute to other supplier risk management initiatives as needed, with a continued focus on audit excellence.
- Proven experience in risk management, and issue remediation
- Project management skills, especially within audit and compliance environments
- Strong analytical ability for data gathering, analysis, and reporting
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and experience developing business requirement documents
- Ability to engage suppliers and outsourced partners to drive objectives
- Familiarity with tracking tools, risk management systems, and automation technologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple audit projects concurrently
- Background in supplier risk management, governance, or compliance preferred
- This contractor will be essential in furthering Microsoft's supplier risk governance, supporting a strong and resilient global supply base.
