Overview: Panasonic Energy is seeking ambitious engineering interns to join the world’s largest lithium ion battery initiative. Responsibilities:Internship Details:The program will be a full time paid summer internship working for Panasonic Energy at the GigafactoryThe program will be 12 weeks in length, and is planned to occur between Monday, May 18 and Friday, August 7, 2026. This date range is subject to changeMust be able to attend the entirety of the internshipApplications will be accepted until Monday, October 13, 2025Program Requirements:The program will be a full time paid summer internship working for Panasonic Energy onsite at the GigafactoryMust attend entirety of internship from the indicated start and end date noted aboveMinimum 3.2 GPAMust have completed a minimum of 2 years at an accredited universityApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., H-1B, O-1, TN, L-1, or other employment-based visas) following graduation. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization.Essential Duties:Participate in Programming, installing, and troubleshooting PLC/Vision systems such as Mitsubishi, Keyence and Omron within the manufacturing processesAssist with design and programming HMI and communication network systemsConducts design and testing work for existing production lines to improve cell manufacturing process on safety, quality and productivity.Analyzes and evaluates machine and test data.Provides engineering support to production teams to resolve manufacturing process issues.Works closely with other team members to increase understanding of failure modes and improve performance of cell manufacturing equipment.Applies principles and knowledge of engineering to solve manufacturing problems.Other duties may be assignedPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a possibility and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.The foregoing description is not intended and should not be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills and efforts or work conditions associated with the job. It is intended to be an accurate reflection of the general nature and level of the job.Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or PreferredEducation:Basic/Required: Completion of at least two years of full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours per semester) in a Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.Preferred: Electrical and Computer Engineering.Essential Qualifications:Evidence of exceptional ability.
