We're working with a global health and wellness company on a confidential search for a CPA Controller to lead their accounting team in Torrance, CA. This person will report directly to the CEO and oversee all financial operations including reporting, budgeting, compliance, and audit coordination. It’s a hands-on leadership role with full ownership of the company’s financial integrity.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and oversee financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flows
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting cycles
Manage annual budgeting and financial forecasting
Monitor budget variances and recommend corrective actions
Supervise accounting staff and manage day-to-day accounting operations
Maintain internal controls and ensure SOX compliance
Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes
Oversee tax compliance and partner with tax advisors
Support strategic decisions through financial analysis and reporting
Identify cost-saving and operational improvement opportunities
WHAT YOU BRING
CPA license required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Strong working knowledge of GAAP or IFRS
Proven leadership in financial reporting, analysis, and audit prep
Skilled with accounting software and financial modeling tools
Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
Comfortable in a high-accountability role with direct CEO visibility
