- Designing network infrastructure at the unclassified, secret, and top secret levels
- Providing network services and network concepts such as TCP/IP and Ethernet
- Maintaining and modernizing networking devices and associated networks
- Engineering and integrating emerging technologies with legacy systems to deliver enhanced capabilities to the customer, and assisting in testing those capabilities within VLAN separated environments
- Delivering integrated technology solutions to O & M Contractor team for full lifecycle management
- Understanding of Routing Protocols e.g. BGP and OSPF, and Switching protocols e.g. LACP, Spanning Tree, VLAN and included technologies e.g. VXLAN, Multicast and EVPN
- Originating, updating, and deploying documentation for procedures and equipment as needed for the mission area
- Establishing strong relationships with key leaders from other teams and demonstrating credibility, empathy and expertise on business and technical issues
- Translating business goals into appropriate strategies and technical requirements
- Implementing electrical and electronic schematic diagrams
- Work location: near Peterson AFB. Onsite 5 days a week
- Five plus (5+) years of network engineering experience and technical expertise in the design, implementation, and testing of network devices and optimizing network performance
- Three (3) years of experience configuring and administering network devices (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls); CCNA/Cisco and similar Cisco device administrator experience
- Active DoD 8570 Level II Certification (e.g. Security+, CCNP Security)
- TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Three (3) Years DoD Network Administration Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Three plus (3+) years of network design experience with load balancing and high availability systems
- Comprehensive understanding of network services and network concepts such as TCP/IP, OSPF and Ethernet
- In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking devices such as firewalls, COMSEC, routers and switches
- Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to network issues
- Ability to design, implement and troubleshoot network infrastructure
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation
- Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminology
- Experience with web application architectures and their required ports and protocols
- Ability to track, recommend, and implement resolutions to issues
- Ability to build good relationships with peers, business partners, and clients
- Develop Network solutions that can be easily tailored to COTS and GOTS systems
- Create and modify Network Configurations and technical documentation
- Experience required with planning, design and implementation of networked systems, to include configuration management, upgrades and troubleshooting of network issues
- Experience with Network Analysis applications such as Sniffer, Wireshark, or Microsoft Network Monitor
- Experience with network security hardware such as Cisco ASA, Barracuda NextGen Firewall, SonicWall TZ, Splunk, SolarWinds Log & Event Manager, Bro Network Security Monitor
- Must be able to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team. Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a diverse, fast-paced environment
- Experience installing, configuring and testing various network devices
