Director of RoomsHotel Julien Dubuque, a historic and luxurious hotel in Dubuque, Iowa, is seeking a Director of Rooms to lead and manage all front-of-house operations. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and dynamic leader with a strong background in hospitality management, a passion for guest service, and a commitment to maintaining our high standards of excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage all aspects of the Rooms Division, including Front Office, Housekeeping, and Maintenance.Develop and implement strategies to maximize guest satisfaction and loyalty, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for all guests.Lead, mentor, and train a diverse team of hospitality professionals, fostering a positive and productive work environment.Manage departmental budgets, forecast occupancy, and analyze financial reports to optimize revenue and control costs.Ensure the physical integrity and safety of the hotel by overseeing all maintenance and repair operations.Maintain and enforce all hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards.Collaborate closely with other department heads (Sales, Food & Beverage) to ensure smooth hotel operations.Handle guest complaints and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.Stay current with industry trends and best practices to ensure the hotel remains competitive.QualificationsA Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a hotel's Rooms Division.Proven experience in managing and motivating a large team.Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in property management systems (PMS) and other hotel software.Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
