  • Interacts with management staff to schedule department personnel and resources
  • Conducts performance reviews, provides mentoring, determines training needs, participates in interview and hiring process as related to department personnel, encourage and develop intangible skillsets among department members (e.g., dependability, versatility, emotional intelligence, self-awareness, etc.)
  • Reviews and maintains department procedures, standard drawings, and software-based tools
  • Utilize and encourage improvements and problem-solving in design and drafting to increase productivity, maintain quality and improve project schedule and/or cost
  • Maintains effective communication with project team members, other departments, suppliers, contractors, and clients
  • Performs as lead electrical engineer on single or multi-discipline projects, directing the work of personnel and ensuring all standards are monitored.
  • Design and specification of transformers, motor control centers, switchgear, power and control panels, generators, grounding systems, lighting systems, security and fire alarm systems, heat tracing systems and related industrial plant systems.
  • Perform basic power system equipment commissioning and start-up in the field.
  • Review supplier quotations and create bid tabulations
  • Reviews department calculations and documents, inter-department check sets and submittals to verify compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Assists in developing resolutions to field design/constructability issues
  • Provide professional seal for governmental permitting procedures
  • Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly
  • Accepts other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university; Professional Engineer (PE) license and Industry related training certification(s) preferred
  • Ten (10) or more years working in at least three (3) of the following service areas: Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Polymers/Resins compounding, and Manufacturing
  • Fluent knowledge of all facets of industrial power systems including project execution including conceptualization, funding, design, construction, and commissioning
  • Thorough working knowledge of industrial power and lighting systems and industrial control systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Navisworks, AutoCAD MEP and Revit software
  • Possess a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NFPA 30, NFPA 497, NFPA 499, IEEE 1584, Building Codes and NFPA70E
  • Experience with power systems, overcurrent protection, protective relaying, power system device coordination, Arc Flash Studies, control wiring schematic diagrams and detail control drawings
  • Ability to specify power system distribution equipment thru 35kV

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction

  • Submit to a drug test post offer
  • Possess a valid drivers license
  • Accepts that this position may require some domestic overnight travel, including the potential for occasional extended assignments
