manages staff and projects, administers contracts, and coordinates work with County departments and state and
federal agencies; assures the economical and efficient development and construction of Road & Levee projects.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Plans and manages the staff and activities of the Road & Levee Division through appropriate delegation,
- Develops plans, priorities, and cost estimates for design and construction of County Road & Levee projects;
state and federal regulations, and County standards; reviews and approves Teton County permits.
- Monitors projects in cooperation with other departments, outside agencies, and contractors; manages
Works design and budget goals, schedules, and contract compliance standards.
- Exercises independent judgment within broad policy guidelines; evaluates and analyzes technical issues and
engineering products are delivered on time and within budget.
- Writes analytical reports and makes technical estimates of a specialized nature in connection with Road &
- Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Six years of civil engineering project experience, including lead or supervisor experience.
- Road & Levee construction and maintenance experience is preferred.
- Must possess a valid Wyoming/Idaho Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer by the Wyoming Board of Professional Engineers & Professional Land
- Additional technical skills training and certifications may be required for some incumbents.
- County policies and procedures.
- Federal and state laws, regulations, and procedures governing public works projects, including American
guidelines; Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) rules and regulations; and U.S. Army Corps
of Engineers (USACE) permit guidelines.
- Civil engineering methods and practices for project planning, designs, technical plans, specifications, estimates,
- Principles and practices of government project, contract, records, and budget management.
- Principles and practices of public sector administrative management, including performance management,
- Techniques and practices for efficient and cost-effective management of resources.
- Interpreting and applying technical standards and procedures, federal and state rules and regulations, and
- Managing and coordinating the planning, design, and construction of public works projects.
- Analyzing and evaluating technical engineering data and construction documentation.
- Managing staff, delegating tasks and authority, and coaching to improve staff performance.
- Reading and evaluating blueprints and technical schematics, collecting, and analyzing data, and performing
- Operating a personal computer utilizing standard and specialized software, including GIS and other specialized
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other County employees, public officials, and
- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
- Work is performed in a standard office environment, and at construction sites, as needed
