- Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.

- Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, personal hygiene and more.
- Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation.
- Build relationships with persons served and teammates.

- Transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home.

- Must have a high school diploma or GED Certificate & basic computer skills.
- Three years’ experience in delivery of significant behavioral health services / previous experience as a Direct Support Professional / Caregiver . Must be able to demonstrate de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, positive support methods, and person-centered approach with person served who may present significant mental health symptoms, physical and verbal aggression, property destruction, chemical dependence, brain injury, and cognitive impairments.
- Need the ability to understand and implement behavior support plans, treatment plans, functional assessments, individualized support plans, and person-centered plans.
- Must be physically fit and be able to stand, squat, bend, or walk for long periods of time. Ability to lift 50lbs is necessary.
- Ability to communicate effectively, including the ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
- Ability to assess situations and make sound judgments when given guidance and priorities. Anticipate possible outcomes of actions and react accordingly.
- Ability to work as a team member to maintain consistency and quality services; ability to exchange support, constructive criticism, and ideas with others.
- Ability to effectively work 1:1 with individuals and within group settings
