We have an immediate need for a Robotics Paint Process Engineer at our aerospace location in Troy, Ohio. The primary focus of this role is to plan, develop, and implement new thermal spray, coatings, and paint processes as part of the restoration of aerospace components. Provides daily production support to troubleshoot issues with thermal spray systems, protective coatings, and paint.
Selects, prepares, and mixes solutions or coatings according to formulas and specifications and creates spray recipes and sequences for spraying
Sets up and operates various configurations of manual, semi-automatic, and robotic spray systems
Generates, revises, documents, tests, and implements control programs for robotic, automated, and semi-automated spray systems
Trains technicians on new process implementation for thermal spray systems, coatings, and paint
Provides direction on proper routine and preventative maintenance for spray/coating equipment
Performs standardized testing on spray samples to ensure coating quality
Documents new thermal spray, protective coatings, and paint procedures and in the form of technical data sheets and work instructions
Process Controls and Improvements
Analyzes, develops and recommends methods to meet production requirements, improve economy and quality, and reduce turn-around-times for products and/or processes with supporting cost analysis
Establishes, analyzes, and acts upon measures of performance related to processes
Investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies relating to equipment and processes to reduce variation and improve reliability
Determines the actions necessary to develop and implement new spray processes new repairs from engineering data
Contributes to the planning and conduct of repair trials to generate data for new repairs or to support existing repairs
Analyzes and documents the results of repair trials
Proposes, researches, and performs cost benefit analysis for new equipment purchases
Coordinates and interacts with the outside resources including contractors, equipment vendors, and supply vendors for process support, improvement, or repair development
Provides support, technical expertise and experience to the Engineering team necessary to develop new repairs on aerospace components
Remains current with state-of the-art technologies for thermal spray, protective coatings, and paint processes
Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions
Carries out special projects as assigned
Thorough knowledge of thermal spray, protective coatings, and paint processes
to learn and acquire knowledge/understanding through study, instruction or experience
Work ExperienceWhat You Will Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment specializing in Fanuc Robotics with working knowledge of paint process.
Pay Range: $85,000 - $98,000/yearCompensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan to eligible candidates.Work Requirements:This role is considered a 100% onsite position
You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
