- Weekly Pay Range: $1,570$1,680 per week (estimated)
- Location: Albemarle, North Carolina (zip 28001)
- Healthcare Setting: Medical/Surgical Unit (35 beds, average census 22)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing (Locum Tenens)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/2/2025, End: 11/29/2025)
- Nursing Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:0007:00), 36 hours/week
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Orientation: 3 days (facility and unit)
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Parking: Free onsite
- Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
- Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong post-operative care and orthopedic nursing experience preferred
- Proficiency with EMR (EPIC), Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
- Ability to float within region and scope of practice (Med/Tele, ICU, PCU, ED)
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg patients, including stroke, CHF, COPD, respiratory illnesses, diabetes, post-surgical, and behavioral health diagnoses
- Manage patient ratios of 1:56 (may increase during surge staffing)
- Perform stroke assessments, chest tube management, PIV starts, trach care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, NGT placement, drain/tube management, PCA pumps, and wound care
- Administer and manage medication drips (cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, IV fluids)
- Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists
- Float to other units and facilities within the region as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in ongoing education and orientation
