- Team Supervision & Leadership
- Directly supervises QC Inspectors across printing, die-cutting, slotting, folding, gluing, and finished goods
- Assigns inspection tasks based on production schedules and resource availability
- Coaches and supports inspectors to maintain high performance and inspection rigor
- Inspection Planning & Execution
- Plans and oversees in-process and final product inspections
- Ensures inspections follow approved sampling plans and specifications
- Prioritizes high-risk or customer-critical jobs for enhanced inspection coverage
- Quality Issue Investigation
- Investigates material defects, equipment issues, and operator errors
- Leads root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions with QA and production
- Tracks recurring defects and recommends process improvements
- Training & Competency Development
- Trains QC Inspectors and Production staff on standards, tools, and defect criteria
- Conducts refresher training and maintains competency records
- Reinforces best practices and evaluates inspector performance
- Data Review & Documentation
- Reviews inspection records and non-conformance reports for accuracy
- Escalates critical findings and maintains audit-ready documentation
- Reports inspection trends and quality metrics to leadership
- Production Collaboration
- Acts as liaison between QC and production supervisors
- Participates in plant meetings to align on quality priorities
- Provides feedback on quality performance and improvement opportunities
- Quarantine Area Oversight
- Manages the quarantine area for nonconforming materials
- Ensures proper segregation, labeling, and access control
- Maintains logs and tracking systems for quarantined items
- Equipment & Calibration Management
- Oversees calibration and maintenance of QC tools and gauges
- Coordinates calibration schedules and resolves equipment issues
- Deep knowledge of corrugated board grades and conversion methods
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective team leadership and training capabilities
- Clear communication across departments and documentation platforms
- High attention to detail and data literacy
- Proactive mindset for continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Industrial Technology preferred
- 5+ years in quality assurance or engineering, ideally in corrugated packaging
- 2–3 years in a supervisory or team lead role
- Skilled in inspections, sampling plans, and defect classification
- Experienced in root cause analysis and corrective actions (e.g., 5 Whys)
- Familiar with Lean, ISO, GMP, or SQF standards
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Travel: Up to 20% domestic travel required
