Position Summary:Mount Mary University is seeking an individual to join our community and contribute to the realization of our Mission through the role of a part-time Assistant Professor in our Dietetics program. We are a community of faculty who value relationships with our students and colleagues. We are committed to a compassionate and effective education for our students. The primary responsibilities in this role will be teaching dietetics courses, advising students, serving on committees, and assisting the department in programmatic activities. Faculty are encouraged to use innovating teaching strategies. As a faculty member, responsibilities also include:Primary Responsibilities:
  • Participate in program and strategic planning
  • Curriculum development and revision. Teaching duties as outlined in contract and faculty handbook.
  • Serve as a resource for faculty members and other program areas
  • Serve on faculty and all-University committees
  • Provide service to the institution and the community
  • Engage in ongoing scholarship and professional activity (research, publications, presentations)
  • Complies and completes ACEND required tasks and activities, including competency based education.
  • Perform such additional duties as may be requested.
Skills and Experience:
  • Doctoral degree and 3 years professional experience post-credentialing preferred; minimum of master's degree and 5 years of professional experience post-credentialing.
  • Previous teaching experience in dietetics
  • Experience preferred in dietetics counseling and nutrition education
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of established professional code of ethics and best practices
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills including the ability to work with diverse groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of professional and community groups
