Capital Projects Manager – Civil Engineering (Municipal / Transportation)Location: City of South Fulton, GA
Salary: ~ 115,000 – $150,000+/year DOEAbout the Role:
The City of South Fulton is seeking an experienced Capital Projects Manager to lead municipal infrastructure projects, with a focus on transportation and roadway improvements. You’ll manage projects from planning through construction, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. This is a hands-on role working directly in the field, coordinating contractors, consultants, city staff, and the public.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead municipal CIP and SPLOST projects including roadways, sidewalks, streetscapes, stormwater infrastructure, bridges, traffic control, and utility coordination.
  • Prepare scopes, cost estimates, bid documents, and administer contracts.
  • Manage projects through the GDOT Plan Development Process (PDP).
  • Conduct site inspections and resolve field construction issues.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, utility companies, city staff, and the public.
  • Review development plans to ensure compliance with city requirements.
  • Represent the City at meetings, public forums, and committees.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • ~ 7+ years managing surveying, civil design, and construction projects for local or state government
  • Georgia Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • GDOT Locally Administered Project (LAP) certification
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of Atlanta area infrastructure highly preferred
Preferred:
  • Construction management experience

  • Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, on-site
  • Local travel provided with company truck
