- Bachelor’s degree required, with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- 2+ years’ supervisory experience preferred.
- Non-profit fundraising experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of tools required. Valid driver’s license and reliable mode of transportation required.
- Collaborate with the Resource Development team to create and execute strategies for maximizing fundraising results.
- Lead annual workplace campaigns with a strong focus on donor cultivation, retention, and growth.
- Build and maintain relationships with businesses, individuals, and key stakeholders to drive year-round engagement and giving.
- Identify and pursue grant opportunities and in-kind support to support services and amplify impact.
- Support and mobilize the local Advisory Board in fundraising efforts, helping them leverage personal and professional networks.
- Lead and facilitate Advisory Board meetings to ensure community voice and leadership are embedded in all local efforts and fundraising.
- Serve as the visible, local face of United Way, fostering a strong presence through regular participation in community events, initiatives, and civic activities.
- Build authentic relationships with community leaders, nonprofit partners, schools, businesses, and government agencies.
- Represent United Way on relevant committees, coalitions, and community collaborations to address systemic challenges.
- Promote the United Way mission, values, and impact through public speaking and public engagement.
- Serve as a collaborative liaison between the county and all departments of United Way of the Coastal Empire, ensuring seamless connection, communication, and alignment with the services and initiatives provided across the region.
- Manage and implement local programming that aligns with United Way’s mission and responds to community needs - including collaborative implementation of Read United initiatives, housing support programs, and disaster relief efforts in coordination with relevant United Way departments.
- Partner with UWCE’s 211 Information and Referral Service team to administer available financial assistance and connect Bryan County residents with essential resources.
- Support the monitoring and effectiveness of programs and services through data collection, outcome tracking, and community feedback.
- Provide capacity-building support and technical assistance to local partner agencies as needed.
- Gives input to and helps create a departmental budget and is accountable for control of resources, if applicable and once approved.
- Responsible to ensure all legal obligations of the agency are met.
- Supervises and directs Bryan County staff in the performance of their duties.
- Evaluates the performance of staff members. Serves as liaison to UWCE office in Savannah.
- Skilled at developing and maintaining effective relationships to advance the goals of the United Way in the community.
