- Conducts internal and external rounds/patrols to ensure the safety and security of the facility, property, and occupants.
- Responds to, and investigates security incidents. Ensures all incidents and activities are appropriately documented and recorded.
- Assists nursing units, clinical care areas, and other departments with uncooperative, combative or violent patients and visitors. Effectively de-escalates situations and uses the appropriate AVADE techniques.
- Provides patient watch activities to mitigate injury to self/others.
- At the direction of the medical staff, applies restraints. Contacts local law enforcement as situation warrants.
- Deals with custody disputes and/or domestic disturbances occurring on campus.
- Conducts patient and visitor searches when required and conducts room and belonging searching as needed.
- Responds to emergencies and code calls. Performs CPR, to include the use of AED’s. For medical incidents outside the building, contacts the local fire department for ambulance response.
- Monitors all parking lots for compliance with facility parking regulations. Tickets unauthorized parked cars. Observe and follow up on safety hazards in parking areas. Provide vehicle assistance services.
- Enforces company policies as directed by a supervisor.
- Assists with parking space and utilization. Rearranges parking barricades to meet organizational needs and special events. Assists parking officers with parking control and assistance.
- Assists with helicopter arrivals and departures. Releases deceased patients and accepts incoming deceased patients.
- Completes all required/requested forms, reports and documents.
- Completes assigned secondary duties
- Responds to duress alarms, calls for service, and other emergency situations.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
- High school graduate required.
- Two years of related experience preferred.
- Direct security experience highly preferred.
