Serving children in PK3 through 5th grade, LAMB is a community that is committed to children and promotes peace and equality for all.Job OverviewThe Human Resources Director manages the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure all employees have access to HR information and tools to support them throughout their employment lifecycle
  • Manage the onboarding and off boarding processes for staff
  • Support all staff to access and stay informed of the available benefits and wellness opportunities
  • Monitor benefits/wellness "best practices", recommending improvements as considered appropriate
  • Serve as employee liaison to assist in problem resolution with issues related to payroll and benefits
  • Handle insurance claims (short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, unemployment, workers compensation) and provide follow-up assistance
  • In coordination with LAMB CFO and executive team, manage all HR-related vendor/contractor relationships (e.g. - benefit providers, legal partners, etc)
  • Manage the visa and residency processes for employees, coordinating as appropriate with legal counsel
  • Oversee current HR systems and ensure effective capture and reporting of employee data
  • Conduct periodic audits of HR practices and procedures to ensure they are equitable and accessible to all employees
  • Protect the interest of employees and the organization in accordance with HR policies and governmental laws and regulations
  • Implement processes to help prevent and resolve problems or disputes between employees
  • Work with managers, supervisors, and employees on employee relations issues, including the discipline process, employee morale, workplace relations, and grievances
  • Ensure personnel files are accurate, up-to-date, and complete
  • Work with accounting to process semi-monthly payroll
  • Serve as point of contact for all benefits and HR matters
  • Respond to requests for employment verification for current and former employees
  • Assist principal and supervisors with recruitment and hiring procedures, job postings, screening of candidates, and other recruitment tasks
  • Ensure that the organization is in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations that include, but not limited to federal and state law as well as Office of the State Superintendent (OSSE) and Public Charter School Board (PCSB) reporting
  • Oversee maintenance of LAMB's Staff Handbook, recommending modifications as appropriate to evolving best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field with a minimum of three years’ work experience as a Human Resources generalist; experience in a school or educational setting preferred
  • SHRM certification preferred
  • Excellent command of English grammar and usage, both in written and oral communications; bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred
  • General knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel administration; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees; effective oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish; excellent interpersonal skills
  • Mastery of Google Workspace
  • Experience with employment/payroll database required; Paycom experience preferred
  • Demonstrated good judgment; approachable and professional; solid problem solving skills; ability to handle multiple tasks; well organized; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality is an absolute necessity
