Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 5 days out of 10 days in a pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Jonestown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

- One year as a Veterans Services Specialist, DMVA (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Five years of experience in analyzing and determining individuals' eligibility for public benefits or services programs; or
- One year of experience in analyzing and determining individuals' eligibility for public benefits or services programs and a bachelor's degree in human services, business administration, public administration, or a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- This job requires you to possess valid accreditation by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a veterans service officer or eligibility for accreditation within one year from the date of employment.
- You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
- Knowledge of interviewing techniques used to gather information for public assistance programs and their eligibility requirements
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Experience with veterans benefits and services programs
- Experience with identifying and promoting veteran benefits and services to the public, community partners, and federal, state, and local providers through formal or informal meetings, events, consultations, and speaking engagements
- Non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent
- Willingness to travel which may require overnight stays on short notice
