- Provide a detailed review of all submittals, design documents, and proposed design changes from a regulatory compliance (National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Federal, State, and local permits) and environmental (air, noise, water, contaminated, hazardous materials, amongst others) standpoint.
- This role includes review and input to design documents (drawings and specifications, including any environmental studies, investigations, reports, surveys) with focus on project elements conformance with the NEPA Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) Record of Decision (ROD) and Federal, State, and Local permits.
- Role will require review of Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP) to ensure all requirements from the permits and the FEIS/ROD are incorporated accurately.
- This role provides input on the project schedule to incorporate timing restrictions, mitigation requirements, limitations, constraints, and compliance requirements from the permits and FEIS/ROD.
- Attend weekly meetings with the team, as well as workshops as needed, to provide status updates and answer any regulatory compliance/environmental questions from the team.
- Provide regulatory compliance review of federal, state, and local permits.
- Provide guidance as it relates to FEIS/ROD environmental compliance.
- Determine if there are permit/environmental impacts associated with work elements.
- Review plans and determine required Federal, State, and Local permits are required.
- Ability to interpret scientific data and specifications and develop technical memorandums.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, or a closely related discipline.
- Extensive years of prior experience with regulatory agencies a must including USACE, USFWS, NMFS, NJSHPO, NJSE (HMDC), and NJDEP.
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel throughout the NY/NJ Metro Area.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Prior experience securing USACE and NJDEP Division of Land Use Regulation (DLUR) permits essential.
- Working knowledge of NEPA FEIS/ROD environmental documentation.
- Subject matter expertise: Knowledge, understanding and expertise across the fields of Environmental and Social Sustainability.
