The Safety & Security Administrator is responsible for supporting Natural Grocers' initiatives and assists team leaders in video review, incident investigation/closure, and recommends strategy regarding safety and security of the Natural Grocers locations.The base hours for this position are 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Sunday through Thursday.Due to the dynamic nature of the Safety & Security industry some flexibility in scheduling will be necessary to accommodate special projects and emergency response. This position does not involve any in-store security or loss prevention duties.Applications are accepted by the date below, which may be updated if the hiring timeline is extended.08/20/2025ResponsibilitiesMain Ingredients: * Understands and maintains strict compliance with the law and NGVC policies concerning safety, security, and loss prevention.
- Resolves incidents involving safety, security, and loss prevention in the incident management tool.
- Confirms gathered information by exporting and preserving video evidence.
- Provides incident documentation and video footage of loss causing and injury incidents to upper management and peer departments.
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with other departments including but not limited to Operations, Human Resources, Facilities, and Finance
- Assists Loss Prevention Manager in the surfacing, investigation, and resolution of loss causing incidents.
- Participates in incident review of customer and Crew accidents and injuries.
- Utilizes critical thinking skills and root cause analysis to effectively and timely resolve requests and investigations.
- Ensures security cameras are functional and report repair needs to management.
- Reviews security footage as needed.
- Maintains department logs and reports.
- Documents all Safety, Security, and Loss Prevention incidents as required.
- Maintains extreme confidentiality of all departmental, confidential, or proprietary information.
- This position will have minimal travel withing home market when necessary.
- This position reports to the Loss Prevention Manager and supports the Safety and Security Department.
- 1 year’s previous retail loss prevention, asset protection, or Natural Grocers experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of progressive loss prevention methods and shrink strategies
- Must possess a friendly and professional demeanor
- Must be detail oriented
- Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for the purpose of public interaction and report writing
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all situations
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot network camera systems
- Able to work independently and make quick, sound decisions
- Able to solve difficult situations
- Must be able to implement solutions and resolution from both a local and global perspective
- Must be available to work the set schedule for this role: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Sunday through Thursday.
- Intermediate experience with standard PCs and business software (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.) required
- Experience with video editing and file formatting preferred
