
Dual Esthetician/Massage Therapist, Spa (OC)

- Perform direct spa services for guests including Massage Therapies, Body Treatments, Facials and Waxing.
- Possess a dynamic and extensive level of skill that can highly personalize each guest’s experience according to their individual wellness goals and with the upmost consideration of safety and security.
- Prompt with starting and ending treatments, being able to work within acutely defined time frames, in accordance with Spa Pendry treatment protocols and with high standards of luxury service in voice, action and intention.
- Practice highly anticipatory service, knowing and referencing guest information including services, repeat visits and other spa experiences booked during their stay, to create a personalized, authentic, and seamless experience for every guest.
- Graciously and thoughtfully provide guests suggestions and recommendations for services and homecare with the guest’s best interest in mind, empowering our guests to select choices without strong selling or pushing.
- Maintain the highest level of ethics and professionalism in voice and action, maintaining guest safety and comfort levels throughout spa services and adapt accordingly with grace. Discreet and secured draping techniques are always practiced, as well as all standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by California law and Pendry expectations.
- Prepare and reset treatment rooms to Pendry expectations including thorough surface cleaning, table and counter presentation and stock levels. Be productive with downtime.
- Perform prep work, equipment maintenance, properly clean and restock treatment rooms, dispensary, and storage spaces to ensure a seamless work environment.
- Always follow Pendry grooming guidelines, and courteously interact and answer all spa and hotel related questions with guests.
- Have a passion for ongoing learning regarding Pendry products, services and standards of luxury as well as personally pursue continuing education opportunities. A thorough knowledge of Spa Pendry services, indications, contraindications, and ingredients is maintained.
- Equipment and supplies are properly cared for and concerns are reported in a timely manner. Proper amount of product and supplies are used in accordance with the treatment protocol to assist with controls and minimize waste.
- Offer flexibility with schedule and availability to meet the variable demand of spa services and work as a team to ensure a work life balance.
- Performance benchmarks are maintained and exceeded.
- Willingness to learn and be adaptable. Attend mandatory meetings and training with Spa leadership and coordinated partners.
- Willingness to mentor others, participating in on boarding of new hires and ongoing training with the Spa Front Desk team as related to Spa services and guest experience.
- Actively participates in safety programs and abides by all injury reporting and safety behavior requirements.
- Participates and supports Pendry’s efforts toward community service, sustainability, and environmental initiatives.
- Communicate with management all occurrences involving staff or guests that require attention. Handle concerns professionally and courteously.
- Maintain positive attitude and contribute to a quality work environment.
- Assist fellow associates with daily operations to support healthy teamwork and contribute to the success of the spa, including guest relaxation spaces, locker rooms, boutique, and fitness center.
- Escorts guests to and from treatment rooms in a graceful manner, attending to any immediate needs throughout the Spa.
- Assist in any other function as requested by Spa Pendry and hotel leadership.
- Valid Massage Certification from the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC).
- Valid Esthetician License from the State Board of California.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing Massage Therapist and Esthetician in a similar role and environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Able to work holidays, mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Experience in a luxury spa or hotel environment that follows the highest standards of guest service; preferably one which has attained a 4, or 5-star Spa rating by Forbes.
- Additional certificates for specialty treatments and modalities.
- Formal education or degree in Hospitality.
- Graduated or have broad knowledge of anatomy and physiology, massage therapy, beauty therapy at NVQ, ITEC or CIDESCO.
- High level of training and exceptional skill in both Massage and Facial applications.
- Excellent eye for detail, ability to multi-task and ability to work gracefully in a fast-paced environment both independently and as a team. Calm under pressure.
- Passionate about luxury service and hospitality. Enjoy working with guests and associates and possess a friendly, customer first service orientation.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work as a team and independently.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality of all guest and hotel information.
