Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Highway Engineer Intern to be based in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.Internships at AECOM offer students in undergraduate and graduate programs the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, and infrastructure projects that make a real-world impact. Additionally, AECOM’s dedication to innovation and sustainability enables interns to contribute to meaningful projects that help shape communities and the built environment.This position is expected to begin in June 2026.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting in the development of roadway alignments, traffic control plans, right-of-way determination, utility coordination utilizing Openroads Designer, MicroStation, AutoCAD and a variety of Civil Engineering design software applications and MS Office applications.
  • Assisting with preliminary to final design calculations and plan development, reviewing of field information, possible field inspection of existing facilities and other work consistent with the duties of an entry level engineer.
  • General office administration, including report reproduction, collation and deliveries.
  • Enthusiastic individuals eager to face new challenges and take on personal responsibilities are best qualified to meet the demands of this work. An intern is expected to be able to apply technical training to perform basic calculations, work well in a team setting and be willing to work diligently to learn new skills.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or in another related field and must have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Capability in AutoCAD and/or Bentley CAD drafting software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Conshohocken, PA. The selected candidate must be available to work in Conshohocken, PA on a scheduled basis.
