?Electrical Engineering ManagerPosition and Responsibilities Overview
Design and develop electrical systems for modular data centers, power modules, and custom modular solutions.
Lead and manage electrical engineering team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Mentor and train electrical department resources on lessons learned and best practices, driving continuous improvement.
Ensure electrical design cycles meet project schedules and budgets.
Interpret customer specifications and requirements, leading the selection of electrical equipment and components.
Provide leadership and technical expertise in electrical design and specification reviews with cross-functional groups, ensuring alignment and adherence to best practices.
Support supply chain activities, including vendor selection and component evaluation for sourcing of electrical components.
Collaborate with customers and vendors to ensure designs meet client expectations and technical requirements.
Work closely with commercial services during the preconstruction phase to ensure accurate cost estimation and design feasibility.
Work closely with manufacturing to resolve electrical design and build challenges.
Assist in managing the submittal process, ensuring timely and accurate material documentation
Perform load, short circuit, and voltage drop calculations to ensure system reliability and compliance.
Assist and contribute to department quarterly/annual goals and KPI’s, tracking progress and driving continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70 & 70E, International Building Code (IBC), and other relevant electrical and safety standards.
Apply principles of Lean Manufacturing and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to optimize design, production and installation processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experienced electricians with an engineering degree are highly valued.
10+ years of experience leading teams in the electrical design of buildings/modular solutions in the construction or manufacturing industries.
Experience in data center or power distribution design preferred.
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines.
Expertise in power distribution, electrical load management, and fault analysis.
Expertise in controls and low voltage system design.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit or equivalent software for electrical design.
Comprehensive knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70 & 70E, International Building Code (IBC).
Ability to read and interpret customer specifications and select appropriate equipment.
Experience performing load, short circuit, and voltage drop calculations.
Exceptional problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
