SummaryProvides Planned Maintenance (PM), safety testing, repairs, calibration, installation, routine and emergency service to general diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment such as Networked Patient Monitors, Electrical Surgical Devices, Defibrillators, Nurse Call system, as assigned by the Biomedical Department Manager.Position Reports To: Biomedical Department Manager
Essential Functions
- In addition to all requirements of a Biomedical Tech I, performs tasks such as the installation, calibration, inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of medical equipment.
- Assists in the development and implementation of equipment management programs.
- Maintains appropriate documentation related to work assignments, parts, and equipment usage.
- Travels to locations away from Wenatchee to perform job related tasks.
- Works directly with users of medical equipment when evaluating equipment inspections.
- Meets with manager to discuss repairs and inspections that require equipment down time that is abnormal.
- Schedules and prioritizes work effectively with departments.
- Notifies manager when equipment is out of the scope of their knowledge.
- Requests materials in a timely manner.
- Understands and complies with code and evacuation procedures.
- Uses national and manufacturers standards when performing repairs and inspections.
- Troubleshoots to the component level on microprocessor/multi based circuitry.
- Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired:
- Associates degree in Biomedical Technology, or Military Degree in Biomedical Technology.
- Five years’ experience as a Biomedical Technician.
- Valid Driver’s License, and verifiable liability insurance.
- Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET).
- Indoor environment. Vibration, noise, radiation, poor lighting, mechanical hazards, hazardous chemicals, infectious diseases, skin irritants and lung irritants are all likely exposures. Job requires working closely with others as well as working alone. Protective clothing and equipment are sometimes required.
