  • Collect data on supply chain operations.
  • Analyze data to identify areas of supply chain operations to improve efficiency.
  • Develop and execute projects to enhance supply chain operations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with shippers and vendors.
  • Assess vendor operations and enforce compliance with quality standards.
  • Measure supply chain performance and report to management.
  • Work with the procurement, logistics and IT departments to enhance service delivery.
  • Support projects analyzing existing system-support supply chains (including, inventory management, maintenance, and distribution)
  • Provide consulting services on logistics strategy and supply chain materiel management policy and guidance related to both weapon system lifecycle product support and all classes of supply, with particular focus on wholesale and retail level inventory management processes, policies, performance measurement and analysis.
  • Support government organizations such as the CBP for inventory and distribution business ideas, innovative solutions, and alternatives that will improve business practices and decision making.
  • Analyze and assess CBP logistics and supply chain policies and procedures against current performance metrics and make recommendations on policy and/or process improvements.
  • Provide administrative and technical writing support for the successful maintenance and update of CBP supply chain issuances and policies
  • Work collaboratively with the appropriate government stakeholders to capture and articulate information for CBP issuances maintenance and updates and;
  • Work with appropriate CBP personnel to identify and capture current and changes in supply chain business processes for policy and procedures in issuances; incorporate policy and procedures changes into issuances based on guidance and recommendations from GAO, IG Audits and directive memorandums.
  • Provide program management support, perform data analysis, develop briefings and papers for all levels of CBP leadership, and conduct research in support of CBP logistics strategy and supply chain initiatives.
  • Prepare and finalize correspondence including letters, memoranda, briefings, speeches, presentations, meeting minutes, and reports.
QualificationsMINIMUM:
  • Masters degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or similar discipline and 15+ plus years’ experience in logistics and supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of commercially based advanced modeling, networking, scheduling and inventory optimization systems and techniques in order to support development of supply, inventory management, and distribution policy to improve materiel management of spare part inventories.
  • Good quantitative and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written
  • High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to effectively interact with senior executives from Government and industry
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
  • Availability for occasional travel.
  • Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications; please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination
  • You must be a US citizen.
DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Master’s degree (Supply Chain Management or Logistics preferred)
  • Prior military or DoD civilian/contractor experience
  • Ability to develop mathematical models and simulations of business operations.
