- Improve and maintain product quality through the development of safe standard work processes designed to eliminate mistakes while maintaining efficiency.
- Analyzes current state manufacturing methods, workflows, equipment, and technologies to determine future state based on improvement targets; implements identified opportunities.
- Maximize efficiency by analyzing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization.
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Provide new and refresher standards training for personnel.
- Conducts improvement projects using Lean & Six Sigma methodologies to implement and sustain objectives, including planning and facilitating Kaizen events.
- Defines & implements new equipment and processes, including automation/autonomation for key operations.
- Provide new and refresher standards training for personnel.
- Manages key capital projects from specification to production release.
- Collaborate with design engineers and product managers on product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Confer with internal contacts or vendors to determine product specifications, arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Complete all training as assigned and uphold all company policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Five years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, with preference given to those with Six Sigma and/or Lean manufacturing experience.
- MIG Welding experience and CNC programming a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products - specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with engineering software is a plus.
- Critical thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- General Manufacturing environment including regular exposure to loud and distracting noises, outdoor climate and weather fluctuations including temperature, humidity, rain, etc., dust, uneven ground, exposure to hazardous equipment, and contaminants.
- Required to use close vision and be able to focus.
- Regularly required to talk and hear; frequently required to sit, stand and bend at the knee and waist, and walk.
- Must be able to have repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement to type and work on computer.
- Must have finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination to work on computer, telephone, and related office equipment.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
