CHC health care services are designed to meet the specific needs of the entire family – from annual check-ups and immunizations to sick visits, mental health counseling and critical prenatal care.Responsible for providing coordination of the front office operations at the Community Health CenterWe are currently looking for a Financial Counselor to join our team at our Red Bank, NJ facility. Responsible for preparing, processing, and following up on applications for the uninsured patients for Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Community Health Center (VNACJ CHC). This is an in-person position located in Red Bank, NJ with intermittent travel to remaining CHC sites.Responsibilities
  • Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of the job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with stakeholders up, down, and across the organization.
  • Reviews site’s appointment schedule to track and monitor uninsured patient panel.
  • Monitors the site’s appointment schedule in order to prepare for future appointments, including outreach to patients regarding required documentation. Leverages all secure patient communication platforms to interact with patients and collect information in advance of appointment.
  • Accurately determines eligibility for each class of uninsured patient programming, including sliding fee discount program and self-pay.
  • Completes all necessary documentation with accuracy in Practice Management software (NextGen).
  • Provides training to Front Desk Coordinator team; assists with training in other locations as needed.
  • Participates in regular meetings with Office Manager and Billing Supervisor to review site performance.
  • Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance.

QualificationsJob Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in medical billing and/or insurance enrollment required
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) required
  • Ability to problem solve and work independently with little supervision
  • Strong communication and math skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work
