JOB SUMMARYEMERGENCY ROOM TECHNICIANThis is a fast-paced Level II trauma Emergency Dept. including Peds. Must have acute facility experience. Advanced EKG testing required. The ER Tech is responsible for working closely with Doctors and Nurses to help patients receive immediate medical treatment. EDUCATIONCompletion of a course in the operation of an EKG machine; on the job training may also be acceptable by some facilities.LICENSURENone; optional credentialing is available through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International.EXPERIENCEAt least 2 years of experience.CREDENTIALS:CPR as required by client facility; health and screening tests as required by specific facilities and/or regulatory agencies.ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONSVarious client facility settings; possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complies with ATC policies/procedures.
  • Complies with client facility policies/procedures.
  • Documents accurately and completely services provided.
  • Maintains confidentiality relative to patient care and facility practices in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Communicates information effectively to appropriate personnel.
  • Complies with accepted ethical and professional standards of conduct.
  • Provides patient services in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness so that autonomy, rights, and dignity are preserved.
