GAMA-1 Technologies is seeking a System Administrator II to install, configure, and maintain an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers in a telework work environment. Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems. Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups. Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access. Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses. May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.Supervisory responsibilities: NoneEssential functions/responsibilities

- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights across the network and applications; ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
- Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures and maintain control records
- Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments are needed and where changes will be needed in the future
- Configure, monitor, and maintain email applications or virus protection software
- Train users in computer system use
- Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes
- Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software
- Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records
- Monitor and manage IT assets and inventory
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field or relevant work experience
- 4 years of experience as a System Administrator
- Thorough understanding of networking protocols, LAN networking, and WAN networking
- Evaluate networks and systems to make sure that they perform reliably and to anticipate new requirements as organizations’ needs change
- Ability to explain technical concepts and processes to non-IT workers
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems that arise with computer networks and systems
- Strong programming skills and the ability to work with a variety of computer hardware and software tools
- Relevant Certifications (A+, Network+, Security+, RHCSA, RHCE, CCNA, MS Azure, etc.)
- Thorough understanding of networking protocols, LAN networking, and WAN networking
