
Agricultural Disease Trial Technician

- Responsible for the creation and execution of work plans
- Train and provide work directions to seasonal workers
- Safely apply pesticides as needed
- Operate the required proprietary software for data collection
- Have the ability or willingness to learn to operate planting, harvest, and other agriculture research equipment
- Work in a greenhouse setting, performing duties such as planting, IPM, ratings, harvest, and insect care
- Ensure completion of detailed records of activities as required
- Assist with research equipment, maintenance and repairs
- Ensure the Company handbook, Rules, Guidelines and Procedures and safety policies are followed, and personal protective equipment is used correctly
- Travel and/or drive on behalf of the business
- Meet attendance requirements and work variable hours as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Two or more years of experience in agriculture, greenhouse production, plot research, or related fields
- Demonstrated ability to work with various groups and prioritize tasks for the best efficiency
- Demonstrated ability to complete projects working under the direction of project leads or managers
- Ability to work variable hours as needed
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving history
- Ability to work independently, unsupervised, and within a team with flexibility
- Have or be able to obtain Pesticide Applicators License within 6 months of hire
- Willingness to learn to troubleshoot mechanical issues and resolve those issues in the field
- Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related field and/or 2 years' experience in agriculture, crop production, general farming, landscaping, greenhouse or similar fields. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (drone) experience
- Experience working in agriculture research
- Bilingual skills
- Experience working with agricultural pesticide applications
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical equipment issues in the field
- A salary between $20 and $25 per hour. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made
