What you'll do:You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the execution of all programs in the Aero domain by acting as the liaison between the Aero Program Managers and Viasat enterprise to drive flawless execution of our programs. Additionally, you will utilize your program management expertise across the aero domain and assist junior Program Managers. The day-to-day:
  • Responsibile for program execution by providing leadership and insight on future proposals as well as contract management, program scheduling, and execution
  • Work across the Viasat enterprise to ensure all Aero Programs are driven to timely and quality deliveries
  • Coordinate with the Aero Program Managers and Viasat’s Entry Into Service (EIS) team to ensure each Aero program is prepared for operation
  • Validate customers are properly trained in fault resolution and act as the liasion between the Aero Program Manager and the Government Care Center (GCC) and Network Operations Center (NOC)
  • Apply a collaborative/consultative working and leadership style, relying on common sense and personal competence for persuasion and consensus building
  • Management of team located across multiple geographical locations
What you'll need:
  • 10+ years’ experience in customer-facing program management with some of that experience around delivering integrated products and services
  • Proven ability to establish and cultivate strategic relationships while solving complex problems in a dynamic multi-faceted environment
  • Demonstrated experience with Government Program and Project Management to include developing, tracking, and maintaining project plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Solid understanding of Government risk management practices
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent experience
  • US Government position, US Citizenship Required
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or ability to obtain when administratively feasible
  • Ability to travel 25% both domestically and internationally
What will help you on the job:
  • Demonstrated success managing a technical program for the Government
  • Experience overseeing the development of an Aero system, for the U.S. Government market, from inception to deployment, including Mil-STD testing
  • Demonstrated effective program life cycle analysis including DMSM, having implemented measures to mitigate obsolescence and DMS on a U.S. Government program
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
Salary range: $150,500.00 - $237,500.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $187,000.00- $280,000.00/ annually : At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience.
