- Work on multiple projects as assigned, providing technical expertise.
- Assist in training and evaluation of assigned personnel, standards, and processes.
- Assist in development of architectural methods and techniques.
- Collaborate with building engineers, specialists, landscape, civil, and similar. Coordination with project team and other disciplines.
- Work under supervision of Department Lead and other senior management as assigned.
- Partner with Project Manager and/or Principal for Client and Project success.
- Serve as a resource for design development, building technologies, constructability, innovations, and sustainability.
- Serve as a professional specialist for the organization in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles and processes. Is consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance on their professional interpretations and technical knowledge.
- Provides support and leadership to others in achieving the technical objectives of the overall work effort.
- Develop relationships with vendors, suppliers, contractors, for product and construction knowledge.
- Work directly with contractors and construction managers.
- Work on mid-large multiple project types in municipal, aviation, education, institutional, commercial.
- Advise and support RFP pursuits and/or areas of specialization.
- Advise or respond to contractor RFI's and Shop Drawings.
- Advise on Value Engineering, Risk, and Cost related to design and constructability.
- Be a leader, contribute to office culture, and be part of building a collaborative and creative team.
- BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Recent relevant experience as a Senior level Project Architect/Technical Architect
- Licensed Architect in the United States required
- Experience in software platforms including Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Adobe, and/or similar.
- Demonstrated experience with constructability and building systems, solving constructability, engineering, means and methods, and creating clear documents/specifications to describe project design and construction requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in solving complex design intent, and rationalizing constructability approach to solve design challenges.
- Experience managing + evaluating design to budget, and leading value engineering efforts, permitting process and reviews, and projects from design development through construction and handover.
- Previous experience leading and mentoring architectural/technical teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements including building codes, construction types, accessibility, and Life Safety.
- Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.
- 10+ years of experience as a licensed Architect is preferred.
- Experience using Revit preferred.
- Experience leading Client and team progress meetings.
- Expertise in conducting quality control project reviews and refinements.
- Expertise in building envelope systems, engineering, and detailing.
- Expertise with contractual document requirements, industry standards, and experience related to risk and standards of care.
- Experience and skill in both traditional DBB as well as D+B or progressive D+B delivery methods.
- Experience in working with project delivery including CM or CMAR.
