Job Description:Brookwood Baptist Medical Center: Located in Birmingham, this 588 bed facility provides the following services: Brain & Neuro, Cancer Care, Children's Services, Diagnostics, Digestive Disorders, Ear, Nose & Throat, Emergency, Gynecological Surgery, Heart Care, infertility issues, Interventional Radiology, Maternity, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Psychiatry (one of the largest providers in the State), Pulmonary and Respiratory, Rehabilitation Services, Robotic Surgery, Sleep Center, Surgical Services, Urology, Weight Loss Surgery, Women's Health, Workforce Wellness, and Wound Care.Job Summary
Develops and manages the annual department operating and capital budgets; directs daily operations of department; directs staff; has ability to hire, fire and discipline. Responsible for quality of testing in all areas of the laboratory.Job Responsibilities
Develops and manages the annual department operating and capital budgets; directs daily operations of department; directs staff; has ability to hire, fire and discipline. Responsible for Tenet Healthcare Laboratory technical development, implementation and integration within areas of technical expertise, to include instrument acquisition, logistic support and laboratory information systems integration.Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related Health Science Specialty. Meets CLIA requirements for General Supervisor
Preferred: Masters in Allied Health Specialty or Health Administration or Business.Experience
Required: 5 years of progressive management experience in an acute care facility.
Preferred: Lab Director experienceCertification
Required: Registered in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or equivalent). Licensure, as required by State law.Physical Demands
- Lift/position up to 20 lbs. Push/pull up to 50 lbs. of force.
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
- Occasional reaching, stooping, and bending.
- Manual dexterity, mobility, touch, auditory to perform all the related duties of the position.
