The Human Systems Integration (HSI) Engineer will provide technical support and interface with the ASR contractor team supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD). This entity is responsible for research and development, test and evaluation, engineering and fleet support organization for the Navy’s ships, submarines, military watercraft, and unmanned vehicles. This requirement is for NSWCPD Code 445, which is responsible for Electric Plant and Electric Propulsion Systems.The incumbent shall provide HSI, engineering, and technical services required to support NSWCPD, a Department of Defense entity responsible for research and development, test and evaluation, engineering and fleet support organization for the Navy’s ships, submarines, military watercraft, and unmanned vehicles. This requirement is for NSWCPD Code 445, which is responsible for onboard CVN Submarine and Unmanned Underwater Vehicle platforms. NSWCPD Code 445 is also responsible for supporting the Technical Warrant Holders in developing, maintaining, and enforcing specifications and standards associated with various systems, components and subcomponents utilized across DOD, including but not limited to Arc Fault Detection Systems, Electrical Insulation systems and materials, Transformers, Motors and Motor Controllers, Steam Turbine Generators, Cables and Cableways and variety of associated monitoring, control and protective devices. The mission essential services and support stated will sustain all new construction ships, surface ships, aircraft carriers and submarines in the US Navy.Location: Philadelphia, PA, and CONUS and OCONUS sites

  • Provide HSI, engineering, and technical services required to support NSWCPD Code 445 for Electric Plant and Electric Propulsion Systems.
  • Provide support for NSWCPD Code 445 including technical engineering support, program management support, logistical support, special project support, and quality assurance support.
  • Support encompasses Continental United States (CONUS) and Out of Continental United States (OCONUS) locations.
  • Provide leadership and management of multifaceted ASR contractor team supporting both onsite USN government and at contractor site locations.
  • Coordinates ASR team, provider, customer, and user and continuous interfaces with the NSWCPD technical community (ISEA/Trainers/Engineers/OEMs/vendors).
  • Represents NSWCPD Code 445 at various internal and external meetings in a professional manner.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Minimum Experience: Three (3) years of experience with control systems, control system design and/or human machine interfaces (HMI) designs.
  • Knowledge of DoD/Navy/NSWCPD Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) plans and processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with USN customer and contractor personnel at all levels.
  • High comfort level working with and around all military/organizational levels, clients, suppliers, and visitors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Occasional travel required.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
Security Clearance Requirements: Candidate will require an Active DOD SECRET Clearance.
Physical Demands: Requires walking, sitting, and standing periods of time.
