Position Purpose:Works as a member of the Production department to assist in the operation of a machine operator position in the Production area.Essential Functions:
  • Ability to perform quality checks using calibrated digital indicators, Veneer Calipers, and go/no go gauges to ensure product is within tolerance.
  • Adjust and change tools as required.
  • Production/Quality records are to be completed as required.
  • Read and understand the reading of Blue Prints in order to effectively operate machine to meet product specifications.
  • Comply with all safety standards and regulations.
  • Read and complete production reports and scrap recording.
  • Uses overhead hoists to move various parts.
  • Works at different work centers as production needs require.
  • Perform 5S activities daily established by Production Manager.
  • Performs maintenance checks as outlined by Engineering and Maintenance.
  • Communicates with supervisors, peers and engineers concerning production issues, changes, and concerns.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Education and Training
  • HS diploma/GED required.
  • Associates degree or CNC certificate preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
  • CNC Machining experience helpful.
  • Robotic welding experience helpful.
  • Basic blueprint reading helpful.
  • Basic understanding of gauges and micrometers.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Intranet, etc.).
  • Superior Mathematical skills are a must.
  • Self-starter, conscientious, enthusiastic with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, in a continuously improving environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to pay close attention to minor details resulting in the production of a superior quality product.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands
  • Constant standing, walking, reaching, balancing, cervical spine motion, lower extremities, and simple grasp.
  • Frequent use of firm grasping, fine manipulation, and pitching.
  • Frequent forward bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to utilize overhead cranes.
  • Must follow all safety practices and policies.
Environmental Conditions
  • Non-temperature controlled manufacturing facility
  • Must wear eye, ear, and foot protection
