3D Imaging Lab Technologist

- Operate computer software for producing 3D images and reconstructions for optimal visualization of patient's anatomic structures per 3D Lab protocol.
- Identify and demonstrate pathology and normal anatomical variants.
- Work in conjunction with radiologists and other clinicians to ensure that the post-processed images are of maximal clinical value.
- Manages the transfer of image data to and from the 3D Lab workstations in an accurate and timely manner.
- Responsible for the creation, measurement, annotation and transfer of post processing image data.
- Works with Radiology PACs, IT and various vendors to assure that all 3D workstations and servers are maintained and updated.
- Collaborate with CT and MR operation managers, to ensure that acquisition scanning protocols are up-to-date and appropriate for the Advance Image Analysis Lab.
- Aid in the design of new protocols for data acquisition when appropriate.
- Assures proper charge and billing for 3D post processing.
- Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.
- Identifies, reports and follows-up on equipment malfunctions.
- Serves as super-user for 3D software, equipment and operational applications
- Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations of the section.
- Determines appropriate coding for pre-authorizations as directed.
- Manages any additional responsibly as delegated by the CT Modality Operations Manager.
- Works with others to promote and encourage each person's contribution on the interdisciplinary team toward achieving optimal patient goals and outcomes.
- Acts as 3D lab QC technologist
- Serves as a Preceptor for new staff.
- Trains technologists and Fellows in 3D post processing workflows and procedures.
- Participates in departmental/hospital educational projects/initiatives.
- Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.
- Completes all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Complies with ETU
- Complies with HIPAA regulations.

- Furthers professional education and maintains knowledge of current regulations and standards, policies and procedures.
- Maintains up-to-date licensure/certification/registration in departmental file.
- Promotes the profession through educational presentations and or publications both internal to BCH and/or at external conferences.
- One year of experience working as CT or MR technologist is required.
- Experience in cross sectional anatomy and the ability to recognize scan artifacts and abnormal anatomy/pathology to identify on 3D images.
- Experience with 3D and/or multiplanar reformatting. Experience with the day-to-day operation of a 3D imaging lab.
- Rad Tech & CT license and certification.
